Aussie Hells Angels to be banned?

Police in New South Wales, Australia's most populated
state, are moving to fast-track an application to have the Hells Angels
motorcycle club declared a criminal organisation under amended gang legislation
following public violence allegedly connected to inter-club conflicts.

Senior New South Wales police have told The Australian
newspaper that Commissioner Andrew Scipione has ordered that paperwork required
for a declaration of the Hells Angels under the Crimes (Criminal Organisations
Control) Act be completed within three weeks.

The police move came as a member of the United Motorcycle
Council of Australia told The Australian that inaccurate and inflammatory
reporting on incidents in NSW and Queensland was fanning potential conflicts.

He said the wounding of a Bandidos MC member at a Gold
Coast shopping centre on the weekend had been wrongly linked to a dispute with
the Hells Angels.

"This was a domestic dispute between mates who have
fallen out. Nothing to do with Hells Angels whatsoever," said the biker,
who declined to be named.

Police are investigating whether the incident, which left
a 53-year-old female bystander wounded in the buttocks, was linked to the
expulsion of a Bandidos Gold Coast member from the club last Friday night.

Acting Assistant Commissioner Mal Lanyon confirmed
yesterday that NSW police were working on a declaration but would not comment
on which club would be targeted or the timing of the move.

It's understood it will take several months before police
could move against the club, but insiders said banning of the Hells Angels was
a high priority in the battle to address escalating violence between outlaw
motorcycle clubs.

The renewed assault on the Hells Angels follows a
decision by the High Court last year to declare the NSW act as invalid. The law
enabled the police commissioner to seek a declaration from a Supreme Court
judge that a group was a criminal organisation.

Police could then seek control orders banning individuals
from associating or face five years' imprisonment.

A lawyer for the Hells Angels, Wayne Baffsky, said the
club would challenge the new declaration but he doubted whether it would
succeed following an extensive redraft of the legislation.

The NSW government had used a political opportunity to
create bad legislation that posed a "terrifying" threat to the rule
of law.

Mr Baffsky, who is the acting spokesman for the United
Motorcycle Council of NSW, said it would take up to six months from the date of
a declaration before the club would be ready to respond in court.

"Police have acknowledged that it's only a small
number of individuals that are involved in the alleged criminal acts but seek
to potentially punish members of all clubs with these laws," said Mr
Baffsky.

It's understood that police are also testing amended
consorting provisions of the NSW Crimes Act to disrupt outlaw club networks
linked to crime in the Newcastle region.

The amendments, passed in February, have turned
consorting of habitual criminals from a summary offence into a crime, carrying
a maximum penalty of three years' jail.

The offence of consorting, first used to break up
criminal gangs in the 1920s and 30s, fell into disuse amid criticism it gave
police too much discretion to target individuals.

Mr Baffsky said the new consorting provisions would be a
devastating attack on the right of free association. "There will basically
be no defence to this offence," he said.

If successful in Newcastle, police will use the laws to
break up clubs across the state.

Performance Machine Bags A Communicator Award

"If it ain't broke, don't' fix it."These are words of wisdom that are taken seriously at PM,
and after a spending a year receiving accolades and adoration over their
award-winning marketing campaign, it was an easy decision to stick with the
pin-up aesthetic that inspired quite a number of consumers to call in and rave
over.

That being said, the Performance Machine team could never anticipate the result of this decision: a record-setting four awards from the 18th Annual Communicator Awards, including the Gold Award of Excellence for the Performance Machine overall campaign!

Being chosen from a pool of 6,000-plus entries from
around the world would never have been possible without the hard work and
dedication of the PM dream team; consisting of Jim McGill Photography,
Collateral Resources Printing, Andy Meadors Branding, and stylist and hair and
make-up artist, Kishu and Judd, whose combined efforts transformed the
thoroughly modern Miss Amy into a pin-up diva worthy of a B-52 nose.

For a catalog of your own, or perhaps a poster to grace
the wall of your garage, be sure to stop by the Performance Machine website and
lose yourself in all of the lush images Amy has to offer.

J&P Cycles Prepares Rally/Open House

It's really no big deal, but we've gone ahead and tagged
the word "rally" onto the back end of our 33rd annual J&P Cycles
Open House - mainly because it best describes an event that promises to be the
biggest and best in more than three decades.

You might be asking how we can justify a statement as
grand as that, but here's the deal: This extravaganza - now known as the
J&P Cycles Open House Rally - is scheduled for June 23 & 24 at our
headquarters outside Anamosa, Iowa. And this year's event will feature
representatives from an unprecedented 100 different motorcycle brands who will
be on site - and actively on hand - to show off their merchandise from dozens
of booths and a staggering 20 semi-trailers!

Here's the short list of activities:

Visitors will be able to witness Geoff Aaron's gravity
defying Red Bull Extreme Stunt Show, as well as 1 Wheel Revolution's V-twin
stunt riders Rob Carpenter and Chris Rayburn.

If you'd rather be a participant than a spectator, you
can sign up for the ride-in bike shows on Saturday, sponsored for all makes and
models by American Iron, Motorcycle Bagger and RoadBike. Registration will take
place from 8 to 11 a.m. and is limited to the first 50 bikes. The Sunday show
is for vintage and retro bobber motorcycles and registration is from 9 to 11
a.m. That show is also limited to the first 50 bikes. The entry fee for both
shows is $15 per bike. The awards ceremonies for both shows will be at 3 p.m.
on Sunday. Classes include: Class Awards, Sponsor's Choice, Judge's Choice and
Best Paint.

Rally visitors can save big time on J&P Cycles'
enormous inventory of parts and accessories throughout the weekend. Most
products in the showroom will be 10 percent off (15 percent for Gold Club
members) and a 40-by-40-foot tent will be devoted to drastically reduced
clearance items priced at up to 50 percent off.

You can sign up to win more than $5,000 in door prizes.
Plus, make a donation for a chance to win the National Motorcycle Museum's 2012
Indian Chief. There will also be a silent auction to benefit the National
Motorcycle Museum. And while you're at it, you might as well grab a burger or
hotdog in the food tent sponsored by Allstate Insurance Company.

The J&P Cycles annual Open House Rally event gets
bigger each year and we expect nothing less this year! More than 25,000 of our
customers attended last year.

Our first open house started out as a simple Customer
Appreciation Day, hosted by co-founders John and Jill Parham to thank customers
for their business throughout the year. Now, as the world's largest aftermarket
retailer of parts and accessories for Harley-Davidson, Cruiser, Gold Wing and
Sport Bike motorcycles, this event has turned into a two-day rally. Outside of
Sturgis, this is one of the only places in the Midwest to see this many
motorcycle manufacturers in one area.

So, make plans now to attend June 23 and 24. You will be
glad you did! Check out our event on Facebook, add to your calendar and share
with friends.

I am hypnotized by the most alluring woman I've ever met. Let's face it, Lisette is an absolutely stunning female. Draped in a long black silk strapless gown, her
dangerous ruby red lips are framed by ivory skin and ebony hair.  But what she says is most shocking...I feel
sick. It's as if someone told you that your house just burnt down, that your family is
dead and that you are guilty of the crime. Quick, hit the photo right now to read the story on Bikernet Baggers.

Brammo Empulse and Empulse R Break Cover

The 2012
Brammo Empulse R & 2013 Brammo Empulse broke their cover last night in L.A. The base model Empulse R will be
$18,995 MSRP, while the Empulse will be $16,995.

Featuring a six-speed gearbox the Brammo Empulse R comes
with a 54hp motor, 10.2 kWh battery pack (9.31 kWh nominal), Marchesini wheels, Brembo brakes, Marzocchi forks, a
Sachs rear shock, and a few carbon pieces. Touting 56 highway miles and 120 city miles, the Empulse is
going to suffer from the same range-limiting use that other electric bikes on
the market are facing, though Brammo has thought to include J1772 Level 2
capability on the bike, which should make for some more rapid charges.

There is no doubt that Brammo has raised the bar for
electric motorcycles, as the 2012 Brammo Empulse R seems to best the Zero S ZF9
in virtually every category (build quality, horsepower, range, etc) - except
price. Expected to be out in limited numbers in June 2012, and in volume in Q3
2012, we imagine the $18,995 MSRP cost will carry with it a bit of sticker
shock (hey-oh!) for many buyers, especially after the Brammo Empulse debuted
with a bargain basement $14,000 price tag roughly two years ago.

The hope from Brammo is clearly that the six-speed
transmission, premium components, and comparable segment machines will make the
added cost justifiable to consumers, though the reality is at the end of the
day, you are paying premium motorcycle prices for a machine that most sport
bike enthusiasts are going to experience a very limited range with. With Brammo
one of the original manufacturers touting the lack of a need for a gearbox on
an electric motorcycle (they make nearly maximum torque at 1 rpm, you know),
CEO Craig Bramscher admitted the company's previous statements at the launch,
but retorted that the IET gearbox from SMRE provided an entirely different
riding experience from before.

Well, that's it for the news this week, kids. Bandit is still sailing the caribbean in search of his pirate ancestor's lost treasure and we haven't heard much from him. Not sure if it's a good or a bad sign. —The Janitor
